Kaliště lies in the Praha-východ District. It is on the right bank of the Sázava. The village is about 34 km southeast of Prague. It had 389 residents in 2025.

The municipality of Kaliště u Ondřejova consists of three villages: Kaliště, Lensedly and Poddubí. The first mention of Kaliště dates to 1428. From Poddubí, a 131 m suspension footbridge crosses the Sázava to Hvězdonice railway station. It was built in 1977.
