Ohrobec lies on the south-eastern edge of Prague. It borders the Homole Nature Reserve. The Károv cottage settlement is also part of the municipality.

The earliest written mention of Ohrobec appears in a charter of Charles IV from 1355. Ohrobec became a separate municipality in 1922 after separating from Zvole. The municipality has a stone bell tower dating from 1868 and a memorial to an American pilot whose aircraft crashed there on 16 April 1945.
