The village's first written record dates to 1358. Štíhlice has a bell tower dating from 1890. It also has a statue of St John of Nepomuk surrounded by lime trees. About 1 km south of Štíhlice, the remains of the fortified site of the vanished village of Lažany survive in the forest; the site is protected as a cultural monument.
